Group work brings parents and their babies together to learn and explore in a supportive environment. Groups are organized by similar ages or developmental levels. We use singing, touch, and movement patterns to enhance developmental movement, social interaction and play. Parents will learn communication and observational skills to promote self-regulation and engagement with their babies based on each baby’s individual needs.
A parent’s touch helps babies become more comfortable in many positions including tummy-time. Parents interaction influences how and when babies discovers new movements such as rolling, moving into sitting, crawling, standing and walking. Activities learned in class are easy to do with your baby at home. Theories of development and the foundation of the Child’Space work are also discussed in the classes.
Classes are appropriate for normally developing infants who are ready for increasing options for exploration, locomotion and interaction, as well as infants experiencing difficulty or delay with skills. Caregivers and other family members can also be included in group sessions
Both group work and individual sessions use holistic techniques specific to each family’s needs to enhance physical, cognitive and emotional development, which benefits all participants.
