Concerns and Diagnoses

Child’Space method sessions may be helpful to children with the following concerns or medical diagnoses:

Concerns:

  • Refusing or upset with tummy time
  • Not rolling or rolling only in one direction
  • Not moving on the floor or crawling
  • Sitting when placed, but unable to move in and out of sitting
  • Unable to pull to stand
  • Late walking or other “missed milestones”
  • Prematurity, difficult birth
  • Difficulties with nursing, eating
  • Medical issues, surgeries, or extended hospitalizations

Diagnoses:

  • Torticollis
  • Plagiocephaly (flat head syndrome)
  • High muscle tone (hypertonia)
  • Low muscle tone (hypotonia)
  • Hip displasia
  • Club foot
  • Visual, hearing impairments
  • Chromosome anomalies (addition, deletion)
  • Autism spectrum or other learning differences
  • Brachial Plexus injury
  • Spina bifida
  • Brain injury (anoxic encephalopathy, traumatic, stroke in utero)
  • Hydrocephalus
  • Cerebral palsy
